* Germany - Report: Mercedes to sell 2.7 mn cars by 2020

Frankfurt,Germany -Reuters/The Economic Times (India) -19 Jan, 2012: ... Daimler and Mercedes CEO, Dieter Zetsche, plans to build a new plant in China and another in either the United States or Mexico to meet the target... A spokesman for Mercedes declined to comment, but reaffirmed its 1.6 million vehicle sales target for 2015... Daimler Trucks chief, Andreas Renschler, is also pushing for a 10 percent operating margin by 2020 to beat Swedish rival Volvo, the magazine reported... It said Renschler was considering whether to acquire majority control of Russian truckmaker Kamaz, according to senior managers... Daimler owns 11 percent f Kamaz and its financial partner the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development controls another 4 percent... A spokeswoman for Daimler Trucks said the company continued to aim for an 8 percent operating margin on average over the course of an entire business cycle starting 2013... She added Renschler was still considering whether to raise the stake in Kamaz, adding that Daimler Trucks had the right of first refusal to buy a 10 percent stake from investor Troika Dialog...


* France - New capabilities for the Euro 5 Renault Maxity

Lyon,France -Truck and Business (Belgium), by Michel Buckinx -17 Jan 2012: -- Renault Trucks is now proposing the new capabilities of the Maxity Euro 5. These are the versions of 120 and 140 hp from the 2.5 DXi engine, equipped with common rail high pressure injection system. An EEV version of 150 hp (DXi 3) will be launched later. Another novelty in the range: a better ventilated bumper with an aggressive design, designed the look of "little truck" from the Renault Maxity improve. To make maintenance easier, also, Renault Trucks Oil Change System (OCS) for which alerts you when the oil needs to be changed ...


* The Netherlands - A new ... unique DAF and torpedo

Hence, we can sometimes see private initiatives, such as the Iveco Stator. Now comes a torpedo DAF model developed by DAF dealer in Eindhoven De Burgh. The DAF XT was built at the request of the transport in Son Jansen. This company wants its 40th anniversary in the paint up. The new DAF XT is fully based on the DAF XF105 model. The results are great and fits in seamlessly with the other DAF products...


* Sweden - The future FL Volvo Trucks will be UD Trucks

Gotheborg,Sweden -Truck and Business (Belgium), by Claude Yvens -13 Jan 2012: -- In a segment with the years lost in importance, partly because the segment of 3.5 tonnes and partly by trucks over 16 tons, Volvo Trucks will not give up his share, but the rifle from shoulder change when it comes replace the FL...  It is probable that future Volvo FL (Renault Midlum and future at the same time) will be largely based on a Japanese concept...  In Japan, home of UD Trucks (in this new organization is responsible for the development for the Asian market), have trucks from 10 to 12 tons a substantial market share. It is therefore logical that a UD Trucks 'global' vehicle will develop, which will be commercialized varieties in Europe under the brand names Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks... The introduction of this new date range is not yet known...


* South Africa - UD Trucks wants African market truck domination

-- The total market for trucks from South Africa could hit the 50 000 mark in 2015, and UD Trucks Southern Africa (UDTSA), wants 20% of that... UD Trucks Southern Africa assembles trucks at its Rosslyn plant in Pretoria and then exports to the following African countries: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe... It now also has its eye on distribution in countries more to the north, such as Tanzania, Kenya and Nigeria...



* Belgium - No New FH' effect for Volvo Trucks Belgium in 2012

Brussels,Belgium -Truck and Business, by Claude Yvens -13 Jan 2012: -- Volvo Trucks Belgium wishes for 2012 are step further and aims at a 23% market share for trucks over 16 tons. All this in a market expected to decline slightly at all, because Volvo Trucks expects an overall drop of 10% of the Western European market, with large differences between northern and southern Europe... Volvo Trucks Belgium has almost reached the market as trucks are concerned, but there will be major efforts for the tractors, where the year 2011 ended with a slightly higher penetration than 20%...  The presentation date of the new long-courrier of Volvo Trucks has not been confirmed. The reason would only have to do with the desire to set the time between conception and launch effective to shorten the one hand, and the final decision to launch in the hands of the other quality managers...
