* Germany - Report: Volkswagen eyes rehaul of trucking

Wolfsburg,Germany -Bullfax -13 Nov 2010: -- Volkswagen wants to rehaul its trucking activities by boosting its interest in Sweden's Scania while transferring its share in German truck firm MAN to its Nordic rival, the weekly Spiegel reported...  Volkswagen's plans would see the German auto giant boosting its share in Scania to between 75 to 80 percent -- compared with the current 46 percent -- and transferring its 30 percent stake in MAN to Scania... * India - KVML to invest Rs 265 cr in Hossur plant in next 5 years

Kolkata,India -PTI/MSN News -Nov 11, 2010:  --  Heavy truck maker Kamaz Vectra Motors, a joint venture between Russia-based Kamaz Inc and India's Vectra Group, today said it will invest Rs 265 crore (USD 60 million) in its Hossur plant in the next five years to make it the manufacturing hub for the Asia-Pacific region...   The plant with an annual production of capacity of 12,000 trucks would make 1,000 trucks this fiscal. It will go up to 2,500 trucks during 2011-12 and 5,000 in 2012-13...   Kamaz's assembling plant in China, operational since 2000, was targetting to roll out 5,000 trucks from the facility next year...  Pointing out that the global market for medium and heavy vehicles stood at Rupees two lakh crore, Kamaz Vectra will begin manufacture of 8x4 tippers, 8x4 and 6x4 haulage trucks and 4x2 tractors in six to eight months in a bid to tap the market... * Australia - Caterpillar shifts truck manufacturing to Mexico

Melbourne,Australia -ABC Rural, by Will Ockenden -11 Nov 2010: -- The Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union is blaming the high Australian dollar for a decision by mining truck maker Caterpillar to shift manufacturing overseas... The unions say the trucks will now be put together in Mexico, and 100 jobs will be lost...  Caterpillar currently assembles the big, yellow mining trucks at a factory at Tullamarine in Victoria, but says in a letter to the union that it's closing it down just before Christmas...  AMWU's national secretary Dave Oliver says the high dollar is hurting Australian manufacturing...  While the type of work being done at the facility is changing, it remains an important part of our Caterpillar operations in Australia with a focus on logistics, sales and marketing...  (Photo: Caterpillar dump truck)

He will be on sale in Europe from 15 000 to 20 000 euro excl btw, according to tax premiums, which vary from country to country... Renault to offer electric vehicle purchase innovative formulas. The ownership of the vehicle and the batteries will in fact be separated...  The Kangoo Express will ZE one-time charge for 160 km 1 to 2 Euros, depending on the price per kWh. * Germany - MAN launches new truck engine optimised for biogas

Munich,Germany -Transport Engineer (UK), by Brian Tinham -17 Nov 2010: -- MAN premiered a powerful new biogas engine for trucks at the BioEnergy 2010 fair in Hanover yesterday...  MAN launches new truck engine optimised for biogasDubbed E2876 LE 202, the gas-powered engine has been developed specifically for efficient operation using gases with only 50% methane content...  The six-cylinder, in-line engine is based on its E2876 series and has a single-stage exhaust turbocharger as well as two-stage cooling of the boost mixture, with high- and low-temperature circuits...  Reiner Rössner, head of sales for engines and components at MAN, says that specialising on a single type of fuel results in increased power and efficiency. The new engine delivers 220kW – 20kW more than a unit compromised to run on a range of fuels, from natural gas to dual-fuel...  He explains that dual-fuel engines require gas with at least 60% methane content, and that to compensate for lower quality gas and improve efficiency, the combustion chamber geometry had to be re-optimised...
