BORDER NEWS * USA / Mexico - New AZ Port of Entry scheduled to reopen this week
A new port of entry in Arizona made headlines this past week
Yuma,AZ,USA -Land Line Magazine, by Charlie Morasch -2 Nov 2010: -- It was opened and then closed just more than an hour later. The decision to close came from the Mexican side, and the border crossing is slated to reopen as early as this week, one U.S. Customs spokesperson told Land Line on Tuesday... Located just south of Yuma, AZ, the new border crossing is three lanes wide, Brian Levin, a spokesman with U.S. Customs and Border Protection said. Its dedication to commercial vehicle traffic is expected to make border crossings speedier for commercial vehicles and lessen the burden at the existing San Luis Port of Entry, which is located six miles west of the new San Luis Port of Entry, dubbed San Luis 2... As a result, Levin said, commercial travelers and daily commuters alike have dealt with delays at the border crossings... (Photo from dsadventures)
