Northern Ireland businesses are being urged to support local haulage operators
Belfast,N. Ireland -HGV Ireland -January 6, 2010: ... Willie Oliver, Northern Ireland spokesman for the Road Haulage Association says that three haulage operators ceased trading in the run up to Christmas and has warned that there will be more casualties in 2010 unless retailers, suppliers and consumers accepted the need for a rise in the rates for road transport... Oliver said that Northern Ireland hauliers are under pressure on rates in an increasingly competitive market and warned that the ongoing rise in fuel costs and new European legislation would mean further hardship as the year unfolds...
