That’s the future of tyre technology as seen by Kumho, and although individual design-your-own tyre tread is probably some way away yet, it’s quite feasible that tire chains, vehicle manufacturers and other brands could soon have their name etched into the tread of the tires their fleet of cars use... The Korean tire manufacturer’s laser etching technology is clearly intended for volume production at this point in time, though Laser etching can clearly be altered tire by tire, and personalization is almost certainly part of the plan for further down the track... OLDER TYRES * Canada - Find new life in cow mattresses

Alberta,Canada -ECOGIZMO, by Ben Coxworth -January 6, 2010: ... Champagne Edition Inc, based out of Alberta, Canada, manufactures mattresses for the comfort and health of cattle. What’s more, they make the mattresses out of old tires, that might otherwise end up in a landfill... Sold under the name of Cozy Cow, the $US95 mattresses consist of a tough synthetic cover stuffed with rubber crumb. The rubber comes from discarded tires, about 500,000 of which are shredded on-site each month. The covers are treated with anti-fungal and anti-bacterial solutions...
