* Michigan - New owner of bankrupt trucking firm Gainey Corp. could be announced Nov. 17
Grand Rapids, MI USA -The Grand Rapids Press, by Chris Knape -October 14, 2009: -- The future of bankrupt trucking firm Gainey Corp. should be decided at a Nov. 17 hearing now that a judge has approved bidding procedures for the company... At a hearing Wednesday afternoon -- one year to the day since Gainey filed for Chapter 11 protection -- Judge James Gregg expressed optimism that a resolution in the case was near that has the potential to save jobs and allow the company to emerge from bankruptcy... Bids are due Nov. 2 and an auction for the company will be held Nov. 16. Gregg set to rule on the outcome of the auction the next day... Company founder Harvey Gainey said there are several investors interested in bidding on the company -- all with plans to continue operations and employ the existing work force. The Wyoming-based long-haul trucking firm has more than 1,700 employees...
