TRUCKS INSPECTION * USA - Pennsylvania State Police take trucks out of service

Buck,PENN,USA -The Intelligencer on Line, by Steve Smith -October 13, 2009: -- State and municipal police personnel placed 137 trucks out of service and issued 495 traffic citations during a one-day enforcement effort that focused on inspecting commercial vehicles on rural roads and non-interstate highways in Pennsylvania, state police reported... The Commercial Motor Vehicle Commonwealth Rural Roads and State Highways detail, or C.R.A.S.H., was conducted Sept. 30 by state police motor carrier enforcement teams in association with specially trained municipal police officers from 11 other agencies... A total of 1,281 commercial vehicles were inspected. In addition to placing vehicles out of service and issuing traffic citations, officers handed out 1,405 written warnings for vehicle and driver violations and placed 31 drivers out of service...
