Road Safety * Ireland - Free high visibility jackets
Dublin,Ireland -HGV -19 Aug 2009: -- The Road Safety Authority (RSA), Age Action and Irish Pharmacy Union are reminding Older Persons that they still have time to pick up a free high visibility jacket from their local Pharmacy... The joint initiative, launched earlier in the summer, between the three organisations aims to distribute 200,000 high visibility jackets in the community and target older cyclists and pedestrians who are vulnerable road users... Commenting on the venture Noel Brett, CEO, RSA said: "I would strongly encourage all older persons to avail of this great free offer by calling into you're your local Pharmacy and picking up a free high visibility jacket. The campaign is designed to improve safety in rural and urban areas and educate vulnerable road-users of the need to be seen in order to be safe on Irish roads"...
