DANGEROUS * India - Cops intensify drive against trucks
New Delhi,India -The Times of India -20 August 2009: -- To check rising incidents of drunken driving involving heavy goods carrier, Delhi Police has intensified its drive against drunken driving by bringing truck drivers entering the city under the scanner... The move comes in the backdrop of reports that trucks have emerged as major killers on Delhi roads and that truck drivers form a large chunk of traffic rule violators... According to Delhi Police figures, 7,963 people were caught for driving under the influence of alcohol till August 15 this year as against 4,845 people during the same period last year.
