The problem with this is that any impact or sudden stop causes the occupant to apply a force directly on only this one side of the bed frame... This patent describes a new belt system that distributes the weight and any impact force over all sides of the bed frame rather than over just one side. In this case, a series of straps extend all around the bed frame, essentially tying all sides of the frame together.
