The trucking industry is the first to see a hit from a bad economy and the first to see it come back... The economic downturn has hit many industries but trucking is one industry most people don’t take into consideration... “The average person doesn’t understand how food gets on shelves or clothes get to the racks. Rail is great to move freight but it’s not going to pull up behind a Wal-Mart,” said Bill Morel, HM&M Trucking president in Texarkana, Ark. “When it comes to the economy, trucking is the last industry people hear about”...
