ALTERNATIVE FUELS * USA - Ogden gets first natural gas trucks, filling station

Ogden,UT,USA -The Standard-Examiner, by SCOTT SCHWEBKE -July 14, 2009: -- The city has completed work on a compressed natural gas filling station that will be used to serve 10 specially equipped refuse trucks... The fueling station is at the city's public works building at 29th Street and Wall Avenue, said Richard Brookins, the city's fleet and facility manager... A $1.2 million lease/purchase agreement is funding the acquisition of the compressed natural gas refuse trucks and the installation of the fueling station... Currently, the comparative price for compressed natural gas is slightly less than $1 per gallon, and city officials believe the fueling station and new trash trucks will save the city at least $135,000 annually...
