* USA - Daimler Trucks North America Introduces Natural Gas Powered Vehicle With Cummins Westport Engine
Vancouver,BC,CAN -Marketwire/live-PR.com -11 June 2009: -- Cummins Westport Inc., a leading provider of high-performance, alternative fuel engines for the global market, announced today that Daimler Trucks North America will offer the ISL G Natural Gas (NG) engine in the Freightliner Business Class® M2 112 truck in a total of six LNG and CNG tractor/truck configurations... The rollout begins today with an LNG tractor for port and regional haul applications... The Cummins Westport ISL G, an 8.9 litre stoichiometric cooled-exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) engine, meets 2010 EPA emissions today, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and offers top-level performance and efficiency.... It is expected that the entire natural gas offering will be available by the end of 2010.

Beijing,CHINA -Cummins/USA (Press Release) -June 9, 2009: -- Beijing Foton Cummins Engine Company Limited, a 50/50 joint venture between Cummins Inc. and China’s Beiqi Foton Motor Company (Foton Motor) today officially began production of Cummins light-duty, high-performance ISF diesel engines... With a power range from 109 – 170 horsepower, the new ISF2.8 and ISF3.8 have been developed to produce high performance with low weight, making them well suited for light commercial applications such as trucks, vans, and utility vehicles, as well as small construction equipment and industrial applications... These two clean diesel engines will meet stringent on-highway and off-highway emission standards worldwide, including Euro IV and above. The ISF engines will be supplied to both the China market and to markets outside the country...

Other features include a range of manual and automatic transmissions; and 12,000 to 22,000 lb. rated front axles, 21,000 to 26,000 lb. rated single rear axles, and 40,000 to 46,000 lb. rated tandem rear axles...
* USA - Navistar, American LaFrance working on low cab-over truck
Las Vegas,NV,USA -Fleet Owner -Jun 10, 2009: -- Navistar and American LaFrance are working towards an agreement to jointly produce a low cab-over engine (LCOE) truck that will be added to Navistar’s International lineup... The two companies showcased the potential end-product at the 2009 Waste Expo in Las Vegas. The vehicle, originally being designed for the waste and construction markets with additional vocational applications to be added in the future, will be based on the American LaFrance LCOE platform... According to the companies, changes to the LCOE chassis will be made and the vehicle will include Navistar components, MaxxForce engines and advanced EGR technology to meet EPA 2010 requirements.
