Washington,DC,USA -Transport Topics -8 Oct 2008: -- The Department of Transportation’s freight transportation services index rose 1.9% in August from the same month a year ago, DOT said Wednesday... The freight TSI rose to a reading of 110.8, from last August’s 109 reading. It declined 1.9% from July, following four month-to-month increases... For the first eight months of this year, the freight index advanced 2.2%, its largest increase for the first eight months of the year since 2002.
