* Nearly 500 New Jobs Coming To Greensboro

Raleigh,NC,USA -digtriad, by Sarah Lanse-15 Aug 2008: -- Gov. Mike Easley announced Thursday that Mack Trucks Inc. will relocate its headquarters and some support functions to Greensboro. The move will create nearly 500 jobs. Mack Trucks plans to invest $17.7 million during the next three years...Mack Trucks Inc. and Volvo Trucks North America, are both members of the Sweden-based Volvo Group. Volvo Trucks already has a headquarters in Greensboro. It's the world's second-largest producer of heavy-duty trucks... Relocating Mack Trucks Inc.'s headquarters and support functions closer to the Volvo headquarters in Greensboro will help boost the competitiveness of both companies. It will also help improve efficiency... The restructuring will start later this year and continue through 2010. It will bring 493 new jobs in the state that will pay an average annual salary of more than $73,800 not including benefits. This is more than the Guilford County average of $37,700...


* Red Bull takes delivery of hybrid delivery trucks

Warrenville,ILL,USA -Truck News (CAN) -15 Aug 2008: -- Red Bull is one of the latest companies to take delivery of hybrid trucks, according to Navistar, which delivered four International DuraStar delivery trucks to the company earlier this week... The hybrid-electric trucks are expected to provide fuel savings of 30-40%, Navistar said in a release. Each truck could save Red Bull as much as US$4,000 per year in fuel costs. The trucks will be used in the Las Vegas metro area...
