Trucks drivers cause as many as 300 road accident per month in Algeria
Algeria -Elkhabar -6 May 2008: -- Up to 300 road traffic accidents caused by trucks drivers’ mistakes, are underscored every month. Referring to recently released report, tens of people resulted dead, while hundreds have been injured... In this regard, the technical check services are banning 100 trucks from traffic every month, because of technical breakdowns... A report elaborated by the prevention department at the emergency services General Direction, has indicated that the trailer and semi-trailer trucks have caused 282 accident only during January, 339 during Feb, and 328 ones in March... Moreover, the DGPC General Direction has announced that accidents toll resulted from mistakes made by truck drivers, has been estimated at 3726... Still, the mainstream causes of the increasing dead toll, is the traffic law breaching, while the drivers mistakes are estimated at 90%, and particularly the over speed, and the drivers inattention...
