Truckers struggle with fuel costs * USA - Soaring diesel prices mean smaller paychecks for worried drivers
He thinks a more comprehensive boycott by drivers is needed again to get prices back down
Middletown,OH,USA -The Middletown Journal, by Jessica Lander-Heffner -April 09, 2008: -- Truck driver Paul Studer calls the open road his home, but daily it's becoming a more costly place to live... Diesel fuel prices have been creeping upward since the hit-or-miss April 1 nationwide trucking boycott... After the boycott, diesel prices dipped from $4.09 to $3.85. But on Tuesday, April 8, they were up to $4.02 a gallon in Butler and Warren counties... Studer said he thinks a more comprehensive boycott by drivers is needed again to get prices back down... The spike could mean increased prices in other sectors of the economy as well since diesel fuel is used to transport most of the world's food, industrial and consumer products, Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service, said...
