Munich,Germany -Reuters, by Eva Kuehnen -Mar 11, 2008: -- MAN AG's core commercial vehicles unit has high hopes for a tie-up with Scania SCVg.ST and perhaps Volkswagen's trucks business, it said, forecasting strong growth this year and next even alone... Volkswagen's coup last Monday to take control of Sweden's Scania by acquiring the shares held by Investor AB and the Wallenberg family raised speculation among analysts that Volkswagen will now set its crosshairs on MAN AG... Volkswagen already controls nearly 30 percent of MAN, a German diversified industrial group... MAN Chief Executive Anton Weinmann said, a merger of MAN, Scania and VW's heavy truck unit would be the fastest and the most efficient way to achieve remarkable synergies on costs and raw material supplies...
