TRUCKMAKERS' NEWS * Sweden - Volvo Trucks boosts production, sales
Stockholm,Sweden -Just Auto.com -18 March 2008: -- Increased production rates boosted Volvo Truck deliveries in February by 23% year on year to 8,907 vehicles... In Europe 6,080 vehicles were delivered, up 38%... The decreased deliveries in North America (554 vs 1,057 a year ago, a fall of 48%) were due to a strike that started on 1 February at the New River Valley plant in Virginia. Production is scheduled to restart on 24 March... Deliveries in South America were up 66% to 1,038, led by Brazil where deliveries increased 72%...
* India - MAN Force HCVs await good market in Jharkhand
Jamshedpur,India -The Financial Express -Mar 18 , 2008: -- MAN Force Trucks Pvt Ltd, the joint venture between MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG and Force Motors Ltd, sees a good future for its heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs) in this mineral-rich state... MAN Force that had produced around 5,000 HCVs in 2006-07, is likely to end the current year by producing around 24,000 vehicles, of which half of them will have been exported by it... The HCV manufacturer exported its first consignment of around 2,500-3,000 vehicles around three months to Bangladesh, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and to other Asean countries...
