TRUCKMAKERS' NEWS * South Korea - Volvo keeps on trucking after 80 years
Volvo Truck Corporation, the world's second-largest truck maker, has launched a special edition heavy truck to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Volvo Group on the Korean market
Hwaseong, Gyeonggi,South Korea -JoongAng Daily (JoongAng,SK), by Moon So-young -March 20, 2008: -- ... Volvo Truck Korea, the local subsidiary of the Sweden-based company, unveiled the "Volvo 80th Anniversary Truck" at its headquarters in Hwaseong, south of Seoul. Among the limited 800 units that will be sold worldwide, 50 have been allotted to the Korean market... The special edition is equipped with a lane-keeping support system, which alerts the driver when the truck drifts out of its lane, and adaptive cruise control, which automatically helps the driver maintain a safe distance from the vehicles in front of the truck, the company said... In addition, when there is a break-in, the burglar alarm system is activated to automatically shut down major functions including the engine. It also has the Euro IV D13B engine that meets the Euro 4 exhaust gas regulation that went in effect this year...
