With more trucks expected to be operating over the long weekend, the transport industry is calling on all road users – not just truck drivers – to do their part to reduce the risk of fatalities over Easter

While the trucking industry inevitably finds itself scrutinised even more during holiday periods, Australian Trucking Association (ATA) Stuart St Clair says other motorists must take responsibility while sharing the road with heavy vehicles... There will be a significant increase in traffic over the weekend as commuters look to get away while trucking operators work to meet increasing supply demands that come with the holiday period... St Clair sees the weekend as a chance for the industry to promote the importance it places of safe driving practices... "They must remember that their professionalism is on show as they share the road with young drivers, holiday makers and grey nomads", he says...
