TRUCKING declared INDUSTRY * Pakistan - Govt announces incentives for truck fleet operators
Islamabad,Pakistan -The Daily Times -2 Nov 2007: -- The government, as a part of National Trade Corridor Improvement Program (NTCIP), has declared trucking as an industry under the ‘trucking policy’ prepared by the Ministry of Industries, Production and Special Initiatives, and the Engineering Development Board (EDB)... The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet, while according approval to the policy, said that the policy aims to reform and promote an integrated, ensuring and sustainable modernisation of the trucking sector. The policy was approved to facilitate truck fleet operators to get lending from commercial banks at competitive rates. They will also be granted insurance cover, tax incentives, and utilities at industrial rates instead of commercial rates to attract much needed foreign investment...
