TRUCK DRIVER HERO * USA - Trucker saves woman in South Carolina crash
Truck driver Mike Hooper said he was just a man “at the right place at the right time”
Cullman,AL,USA -The Cullman Times, by Brittany Woodby -November 21, 2007: -- Others see him as a hero... !!! Hooper, a Cullman native, really was at the right place last Monday when a small vehicle crashed head-on with a full-size pickup truck on a South Carolina highway... Hooper was behind the wheel of his 18-wheeler when he saw the car burst into flames with its female driver inside... “I really didn’t have time to think about what was going on,” he said. “All I could think about was getting that girl out of that car”... Hooper left his truck and ran to the vehicle, which was fully engulfed in fire... While Hooper tried to break the car’s windows with his bare hands, another man joined him in his effort and together they used a metal pipe to break the glass. They pulled the woman from the car to safety... (Photo: Holly Pond resident Mike Hooper pulled a Florida woman from this burning vehicle after he witnessed the crash in South Carolina)
