CLEAN AIR * USA & Canada - West coast ports plan to mirror truck emission rules
A trio of northwestern shipping ports are planning to follow through with similar truck emission rules recently passed at the ports of L.A. and Long Beach
Seattle,Wash,USA -The Seattle Post Intelligencer/Today's Trucking -22 Nov 2007: -- ... The Seattle seaport, along with the ports of Tacoma and Vancouver, B.C., has drafted a program similar to one in the Golden State in which trucks built before 1989 could be banned from entering the port as of October 2008... Trucks are just one part of a larger strategy that asks port business reduce air emissions produced by container ships, cargo handling equipment and railroads...
