TRUCKING INDUSTRY NEWS * Australia - ATA seeks operator input into emissions trading proposal

Australia -ATN -9 October 2007: -- A survey designed by the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) will be distributed to truck operators nationwide this week, with the aim of developing a network of industry participants from which to draw upon and inform during the design process of the Australian Government’s emissions trading scheme (ETS)... With transport destined for inclusion in the ETS, it is essential the trucking industry provides an informed contribution to the development of the legislation and regulations that will define the framework and operations of the scheme, ATA Chief Executive Stuart St Clair says... The ATA will distribute information on the survey to member companies and the wider trucking industry through member organisations in the coming week...
