New York,NY,USA -Associated Press/Forbes -5 Oct 2007: -- Shares of trucking companies rose Friday, as the broader market climbed and a Banc of America analyst upgraded shares of JB Hunt Transport Services Inc. and Werner Enterprises Inc. citing the truckload carriers' ability to weather a steep freight market decline... Analyst Scott D. Flower raised his rating on Werner and JB Hunt to "Neutral" from "Sell"... He also raised his price targets on Werner to $19 from $18, and JB Hunt to $26.50 from $25... Trucking companies are cutting costs as fuel prices rise and a drop in U.S. housing starts cuts into shipments of lumber, appliances and furniture. Knight said last month that third-quarter profit would miss analysts' estimates, citing the drop in demand... Knight's restructuring may have made the president's duties redundant. He did not know details of the reorganization...
