Australia -Blues Country Magazine -May 31, 2007: -- Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews has announced the formation of a working group to assess the need and circumstances in which the use of skilled temporary section 457 visas may be extended to the trucking industry – a week after his office told ATN that no such review was taking place... The working group will provide advice as to the development of appropriate standards and benchmarks for the trucking industry before the Government considers further the granting of temporary visas to the sector... Andrews says the group will focus on the needs of the industry across the full range of industry occupations, including mechanical drivers, trailer construction and repair, logistics and warehousing...
