DANGEROUS DRIVER * Australia - Workers to begin clearing train wreckage

Kerang,Victoria,Australia -ABC Online -June 7, 2007: -- After the horrifying crash near Kerang in north-west Victoria yesterday, experts are pointing at the lethal potential of high speed trains and trucks colliding at thousands of level crossings around Australia, many of which were originally designed for horse and buggy transport... Eleven people were killed in the crash, which involved a semi-trailer and the passenger train... The truck driver, Christian Scholl, charged over fatal crash, is among four of the injured still recovering in hospital... The accident happened at a level crossing where there were no boom gates, but the warning lights and bells were operating... Stuart St Clair, from the Australian Trucking Association, says the industry would like to see more warning signs at level crossings across Australia...
