Trucking Prices * New Zealand - Road user charge hike likely to inflate
New Zealand -National Business Review -4Apr 2007: -- The Road Transport Forum says many trucking companies will have to charge more for transporting goods or go out of business after an increase in road user charges... A recent survey from the University of Waikato showed many road carriers, especially small ones, are running at a loss... Expect the price of goods to rise as trucking companies put up their freight costs by at least 10 percent... The Road Transport Forum says there has been a 50 percent rise in Government imposed costs over the past 12 months including an extra week of leave added to the wages bill...
