Hilversum,Netherlands -Radio Netherlands, by Thijs Westerbeek -2 Apr 2007: -- In the long run, building ever more roads will not solve the problem of traffic congestion. Most drivers have seen it happen; a new stretch of road is opened and in the short-term traffic flow improves. Sadly, a couple of weeks or months later it's as bad as it was before - it seems that more tarmac generates more traffic... Bearing this in mind, scientists at the Delft University of Technology are attempting to make better use of the existing road infrastructure through the development of a system of automatically controlled trucks...
