Dublin,Ireland -The Dublin People -7 Feb 2007: -- Dublin City Council has announced details of the Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) Cordon Restrictions that will come into operation around the city on February 19, 2007... From that date five axle vehicles and over will be prohibited from travelling within the city, roughly bounded by the canals, from 7am-7pm Monday to Sunday... Michael Phillips, city engineer and director of traffic, said the HGV Cordon Restrictions would ensure maximum use of the Dublin Port Tunnel by truckers. “It will also make the city more accessible for pedestrians, cyclists, public transport and other motorists,” he said...
