NY,USA -Forbes, by Parmy Olson & Chris Noon -23 Jan 2007: -- The German truckmaker MAN said Tuesday it was pullling its hostile takeover bid for Swedish rival Scania and would instead seek a friendly linkup... Talks with Volkswagen, a major shareholder in MAN and Scania, indicated that a friendly cooperation between the German and Swedish companies would be preferable to the hostile bid, which VW had rejected... All parties seem to have welcomed the prospect of a friendly combination of MAN, Scania and Volkswagen Heavy Trucks...
