* Iran - Saipa Diesel soon to begin exports of €130m Volvo trucks to Africa
Tehran,Iran -Mehrnews/MNA -Oct. 22, 2006: -- Iran’s Saipa Diesel Co. will in the next month begin exports of its homemade Volvo trucks abroad. The trucks are valued at around €130 million, an official with one of the nation’s major auto makers noted... Based on an earlier agreement reached with the parent company, Iran’s truck manufacturer is planning to export 2,000 FM12, FM9, FH12 and NH12 Volvo trucks to the African markets within a period of one year, quoted him as saying here on Sunday...

* Japan - Isuzu, GM to sell trucks in SAfrica
Tokyo,JAP -XFN ASIA/AFX News Limited/Forbes -23 Oct 2006: -- Isuzu Motors Ltd said it and General Motors Corp have agreed to establish a joint venture to sell commercial trucks in South Africa. Isuzu Truck South Africa (Pty) will be established next month, with sales operations beginning in 2007... The new company will initially sell N and F series commercial trucks, made by Isuzu and introduce eventually C and E series as well, targeting immediate sales of 3,500 units in 2007 and 5,600 units in 2010...
