* China/N.Korea - China steps up inspection of North Korea trade following UN sanctions
DANDONG, China - Khaleej Times Online (UAE)/AP -16 Oct 2006: -- Customs inspectors in China, North Korea’s main trading partner, examined cargo trucks bound for the North more closely on Monday after the UN Security Council approved sanctions on the North for its claimed nuclear test... At a border-crossing post in the Chinese city of Dandong, customs officers opened the back of each truck and looked at its cargo, though they didn’t open individual boxes or bags. By contrast, reporters who visited the border post last week didn’t see inspectors open any trucks...
