Suit - USA - Freightliner versus GM alleges antitrust violations
DETROIT,MI,USA -WLNS (Lansing,MI) -11 Aug 2006: -- DaimlerChrysler's heavy truck unit has sued General Motors over what it says are predatory practices in the sale of some heavy duty automatic transmissions... GM has denied the claims and says it will fight the suit... The suit by DaimlerChrysler's Freightliner unit says GM controls virtually the entire transmission market for certain vehicles... It says they include diesel-powered buses, recreational vehicles and walk-in vans... Freightliner says that GM is using its monopoly status to squeeze out new competitors and boost its share in other corners of the heavy-duty market...
