* USA - Toyota settles sexual harassment lawsuit
Detroit,Mich,USA -The Detroit News, by Christine Tierney -5 Aug 2006: -- Toyota Motor Corp. has settled an embarrassing sexual harassment lawsuit filed by an assistant to one of the Japanese automaker's highest-ranking executives in the United States... An aide to Hideaki Otaka, former chairman and president of Toyota Motor North America, sued him and the company in May for more than $190 million. Sayaka Kobayashi, 42, a Japanese citizen with U.S. resident status, alleged that Otaka, 65, groped and harassed her over four months in 2005...

Not to make light of the matter, but the MY 2004-2005 Toyota Sienna minivan has assaulted eight people already, with four of the attacks leading to injuries... The trouble stems from faulty lift-gate struts that do not hold the weight of the people mover's rear hatch...
