* Qatar - 1,000 more new taxis to hit Doha roads
DOHA,Qatar -The Peninsula, by Ahmed Al Ansari -July 03, 2006: -- A fleet of 1,000 new taxis, most of them Ford cars, will be introduced on streets of Qatar beginning later this month by the Public Transport Co, said Ahmed Al Ansari, Marketing Manager, Mowasalat... The new cabs, he said, will be introduced in phases and the first batch of Ford cars used for these are expected to be delivered to Mowasalat later this month. The entire fleet of 1,000 new taxis, he said, will be rolled out before the Asian Games which will be held in Doha in December this year..... For the Asian Games, Mowasalat will provide 1,200 cars and 1,000 buses for the transport of teams and their officials, supporters and the media...
