Sharing the Road - USA - Safe Trucking

With the holiday rush underway, we're bringing you a look at how to best share the road

Dandridge, Jefferson County,TN,USA -WVLT/Knoxville,TN, by Stephen McLamb -1 July 2006: -- With two major interstates coming together in Knoxville, sharing the road with truckers is inevitable... Truckers caution smaller cars to stay out of their blind spot or as they call it their ‘no zone'... Truckers do more than look out for Ole Smokey. They're looking out for you. Even with a big rig behind, you can't see it in a trucker's mirror... So what if you were behind a trucker in your car?... "If you cannot see my face in my mirrors, when you are passing me or running along side, it is hard for me to see you," Trevor Tester's been trucking for 19 years, he says people should also be aware of getting too close to a big truck... "The trucks do have a lot of weight and it is hard for us to stop like an automobile," Tester says... And remember trucks are big and take a bigger turns... Well you know how you feel driving around those big rigs...
