Portland,OR,USA -kgw/Northwest News Channel/Associated Press -May 31, 2006: -- Oregon-based Freightliner says next year may be among one of the company's best -- despite new emission standards that are expected to limit business... Freightliner is the largest heavy-duty truck manufacturer in North America... In 2007, EPA emission standards require that commercial heavy-duty diesel engines comply with significantly more stringent standards for nitrous oxide and particulate matter level... Chris Patterson, president and chief executive officer of Freightliner, said Wednesday that the change is likely to limit the company's volume of production but says the exact effect could not be measured yet...
