Overweight trucks - USA - Tearing up roads as fast as city repairs them
Spokane,Was.,USA -News4 Staff, by Jeff Humphrey -June 21, 2006: -- This year the City of Spokane is spending millions of dollars to replace some of the arterials drivers use to get around town but Spokane police have discovered that trucks used in repair jobs are damaging other roadways in the process... The owner of Halme Construction said his company is not deliberately running overweight trucks and that changing conditions in the soil he's moving like moisture or rock content makes it hard to be precise on the weight they're hauling... Spokane police say the truck was five-and-a-half tons overweight and that an experienced driver should clearly be able to see the difference...
