Travel - Canada - Province expands heavy-truck routes
Saskatchewan,Canada -CBC News -Jun 20, 2006: -- The Saskatchewan government says it will allow heavy trucks to travel on more kilometres of highway that can handle the loads... In a change designed to help companies move goods more cheaply and to take some pressure off less-sturdy roads, the province said it's adding 1,190 kilometres to its "primary weight highway network" — a 15 per cent increase... Until now, truckers with heavy loads could use the 1,190 kilometres but they often had to get special permits and pay extra fees...
