Generosity - USA - Forgotten Harvest takes bruised goods to the hungry

Detroit,Mich,USA -The Detroit Free Press, by GRETA GUEST -June 22, 2006: -- Have you ever wondered where that slightly bruised apple you passed over at the grocery store ends up?... If you shop at Kroger, Farmer Jack, Nino Salvaggio, Whole Foods or a number of other retailers in Forgotten Harvest's network, chances are good the apple will go to feed the hungry in metro Detroit... Forgotten Harvest, based in Southfield, is the only nonprofit group that collects perishable food from area retailers and caterers and distributes it to groups serving the needy... Many groups, including the center, get Forgotten Harvest food distributions)
