Buyers - USA - No end to high transportation costs
Newton,MA,USA -Purchasing.com -21 June 2006: -- Government data through May shows that costs of transportation services have risen by almost 10% over the past year—with almost 7% coming from increased energy costs have been passed along to customers directly through surcharges. That may explain why 79% of buyers polled reported transportation prices going up in Purchasing’s latest survey and another 73% expect these increases to continue through September... However, nearly all trucking companies worry that further fuel price increases will squeeze their profit margins, curb consumer spending and, eventually, reduce demand for shipping services...
