Anti-SUV petition - UK - Urges £20 London congestion charge
UK -Auto Industry -15th June 2006: -- Members of the Alliance Against Urban 4x4s yesterday delivered a petition bearing 5,000 signatures to the Mayor of London urging a £20 daily London congestion charge to be levied on vehicles rated at over 225 g/km of CO2... The lobby group believes their policy could reduce the number of high carbon-emitting vehicles in central London by up to 40%, and also raise approximately £34m extra in congestion charge revenues to spend on public transport facilities...
