Australia - Supply Chain Review -14 June 2006: -- Industry is being imaginative as it embraces a brave new world of performance-based standards (PBS)... Rob Perkins from the Australia Road Transport Supplies Association (ARTSA) is travelling the country listening to operators and truck manufacturers about what combinations they want to use on the road under a PBS framework... The aim is to develop ‘blueprint’ vehicles, allowing operators to build to specification to streamline the approval process through road authorities... The most popular proposals at the meeting were for quad-axle and tridem drive semi-trailers...
