LOUISVILLE, KY.,USA -Reuters -Mar 22, 2006: -- Truck manufacturer Paccar Inc., has seen no evidence that buyers are rushing to place orders ahead of tough new emission rules on diesel engines that take effect in 2007... Predictions of a so-called "prebuy" rush has so far failed to materialize, Paccar Vice President Bob Christensen said at the Mid-America Trucking Show here... Because the new engines run hotter than current diesels, Kenworth lengthened the T660 by two inches and expanded the grill area by 5 percent to accommodate the beefed up cooling system the engines require...
