Regulations - USA - Fuel dealers lose drivers as security kick in
MONTPELIER,Barre,VT,USA -Barre Montpelier Times Argus, by David Delcore -Jan 8, 2006: -- A federal regulation that was crafted to keep terrorists from wreaking havoc with trucks loaded with hazardous cargo is making life miserable for some Vermont fuel dealers and forcing others to bend the law... Since the change went into effect last February, 296 applications from Vermont truck drivers have been reviewed and approved, none have been rejected, and 48 are still being processed... Sweet conceded the point, suggesting the regulation be reviewed and modified to address concerns raised by fuel dealers...
