Power Asia Pacific 2005 China Initial Quality Study, Japanese brands ranked first in four of five categories. Toyota was first in three categories, and Honda was best in another. The Chevrolet Spark, a reborn Daewoo model, was the non-Japanese winner... The quality of homegrown brands is still pretty rough in China, as anyone who saw the Chinese cars and SUVs at the Frankfurt auto show can testify. But for the Chinese, buying a Japanese car is more than a brand issue. It's a leap of faith...
