Purchases - Barbados - New BWA trucks
Barbados -Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation -4 Nov 2005: -- The Barbados Water Authority says it will soon be better able to serve its customers, improve operational efficiency and enhance its financial situation... Sixty-nine vehicles and other pieces of critical equipment have been imported by Simpson Motors and form part of a million dollar lease package. They include 48 half ton twin cab vehicles to be used by work crews; along with crane trucks, four wheel drive vehicles and compressors... By leasing, the BWA does not have to pay for the vehicles and equipment upfront, while avoiding the costs associated with purchasing them... The new arrangement is expected to help the financially strapped Water Authority to save about $150,000 a year over the life of the five year contract... The Water Authority has about 200 vehicles in its fleet.
