Security - USA - Cameras to be required on large mine trucks
CHARLESTON, W.Va.,USA - WAVY-TV/Portsmouth,VA -Sept 8, 2005: -- Starting early next month, video cameras will be required on large surface mining trucks in West Virginia to help prevent accidents... He says the regulation stems from an accident in September 2003, in which two coal miners died after their van was struck by a 190-ton rock truck at a Massey Energy subsidiary mine in Boone County. Massey is based in Richmond... Dickens says the rock truck driver could not see the van. He says installing video cameras could maximize visibility to eliminate blind spots...
